The Anchor & Oar

A pub at the bottom of Quay Walk, where the lane meets the creek. The bar is open more often than the kitchen. Greymarsh is not a real village, and this pub is not a real business.

A drawing of the pub by the creek. Not a map, and not a photograph.

Events

Thursday quiz

Eight o’clock, in the main room. No entry fee. Questions are read once. Teams of up to four. It finishes around half past nine, before people want the room quiet again.

First Sunday, music

From four until five, one or two people play in the side room. It is not amplified and it is not ticketed. The kitchen that day is lunch only, so the music does not sit on top of service.

Harvest supper

Once in the autumn. The date would be chalked on the board in the bar a fortnight before. It is a set meal at one sitting, paid for on the night, and it is not ticketed in advance on this page.

From the green, the lane drops toward the creek. The pub would be the last building before the slipway. There is no car park. The lane is for walking.
