Saltmarsh House

Two rooms in a house beside the marsh. Breakfast is included. Saltmarsh House is not a real guesthouse, and this page cannot take a booking or a payment.

Rooms

The house takes one party at a time in each room, and not a third person in either. Prices are for the night, breakfast included. They are example prices for this demonstration.

Creek room

£118 for two · £106 for one

A double bed, an en-suite shower, and a window toward the marsh. A chair, a small table, and space for two cases. The bathroom is not shared.

Orchard room

£104 for two · £92 for one

A double bed, or twin beds if you ask in the enquiry. An en-suite shower and a window toward the garden. The same sort of furniture as the creek room, in a slightly smaller space.

Arrival is from 4pm. Departure is by 10:30am. There is no reception desk. Someone from the house meets you.

Breakfast

Served from 8:00 to 9:15, in the small dining room. It is included in the price of the room.

A cooked plate: egg, bacon or a vegetarian equivalent, tomato, mushroom, and toast. Or porridge, fruit, yoghurt and toast, if you would rather. Tea or coffee with it.

Tell the house the evening before if you need to leave before eight. In that case something simple can be left out: bread, fruit, and a flask. It will not be a cooked plate.

Say if you do not eat meat, or if you need gluten-free toast. This is a domestic kitchen. It handles milk, eggs, gluten, and sometimes fish and nuts. We would tell you plainly if a request could not be made safe. Because the house is fictional, that conversation cannot actually happen.

House rules

  1. The house is quiet after 10pm. That includes the garden and the lane outside the door.
  2. No smoking, and no vaping, inside or in the doorway.
  3. One dog may be accepted if you ask first. The dog sleeps on a blanket you bring, not on the bed. The house can say no.
  4. Check-in is from 4pm. Check-out is by 10:30am.
  5. Do not send payment card numbers. This demonstration takes no payment. A real stay would be paid at the house, not through this form.

Booking enquiry

The form does not save what you type and it does not reach a guesthouse. It asks your email program to open a message to Bay Admin at [email protected], as a demonstration of an enquiry. If nothing opens, write to that address yourself.
